Telecommunications Embargo 2020-2021
Telecommunications Carriers will not be provisioning the following services over the course of the telecom embargo period
- No Internet Services – Fibre / Dark Fibre, NBN, copper lines or other broadband internet connections, cabling and connectivity.
- No Network Adds, Moves and Changes.
- No Voice Services – provisioning of new hosted phones systems / VoIP, new numbers and porting of numbers from one carrier to another.
What can be deployed during the telco embargo period?
- On-premise phone system hardware, note no network connectivity or phone lines can be provisioned.
- Desk phones, conferencing hardware, internal office ethernet cabling.
- Mobile services with possible delays on delivery
Will support still be available during the embargo?
Please note most carriers will still provide support during the Telecommunications embargo window, however, response times may vary from company to company.
Do you urgently need telecommunications services deployed?
Telco Broker have access to a broad range of Telecommunications providers from all over the industry, congestion amongst providers will typically begin towards Mid November, where carriers are processing a large influx of last minute orders and processing backlogs of requests prior to the commencement of the telco embargo.
Prior to the embargo commencement, our team can reach out to a number of providers on your behalf to determine what capacity they have to provision new services in a hurry. There are no guarantees during this challenging time, however, we will be able to increase your changes of pushing orders through by leveraging off our network.
What are the typical lead times for telecommunications services?
Note, the list below are the typical lead times throughout the course of the year, leading up to the Telco Embargo these lead times can sometimes be pushed out.
